I have a lower case "uma" in the top right hand corner of my Bold 9700. I understand a lower case "uma" means I have limited connectivity or that I am not connected properly or something?

My internet browser, BB Messenger and Facebook App is now not working and I think the lower case "uma" might have something to do with it. It was working fine the other day, super fast and stuff so how can I fix this?

Uppercase in any connection means you're connected to RIM data services. Lowercase means you're not. So you want to see UMA, EDGE, GSM instead of uma, edge, gsm.

So you're right that it is the reason your BB Messenger and Facebook isn't working. Since you're on Orange, you should search the forum for your router or Orange and see what comes up. I personally think the UK routers are just different than in North America which causes problems. But I hardly see anyone replying back when they fix their problem so can't be sure.
