Default Opera Mini Problem with Blackberry Bold OS Ver. 5.0.0.411

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I just upgraded my bold from ver 4.6 to 5.o.o.411. The upgrade have been successful but after I download Opera Mini and try to run the apps, it cannot be running. I don't know what happen.

The message is as follow:
Failed to connect to the internet.(I do not have a problem if I use standard browser from blackberry)

Anyone here can help me to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

What do u have in options>advanced>tcp/ip?

Also, how do you have your connections set up in the opera mini options?

Thumbs up Opera Mini Problem with Blackberry Bold OS Ver. 5.0.0.411

Same problem for me.

Checked Opera Mini settings (thanks dankarlinski ) > advanced > protocol and found it set to 'socket'. Clicked on it and changed to HTTP. Now working fine .

Hope this works for you!!

My experience is that Opera Mini no longer works on socket in OS 5--as you found out.

I have Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 running in socket mode. It's working.

OTOH, I downloaded the production Opera Mini 5 and it was not working well. Also the UI changed and I prefer the older UI (looked better and used the real estate on 9700 better). Uninstalled Mini5 and kept the Beta 2 version.
