Default Update issue!

Please Login to Remove!

I recently plugged in my blackberry and it automatically got update to the firmware version 5.0.0.593.
Everythin seems to be working fine but there are two issues with the buttons on top of the Bold 9700.
The one to the left used to be the lock button and when pressed the phone used to lock and the owner's name used to be displayed where as the right key used to put the phone into the standby mode and it used to fadeout.
Now when I hit the left button the screen goes black and it says that the phone is locked(no owner's name is displayed like it used to be in the earlier versions), Also the right button has become non functional...pressing or holding it does not do anything.
Is this an issue with the firmware or my handheld?
Will a firmware upgrade help and if so to which version.
I'm in India as of now but the handheld was purchased from the middle-east.

You have to downgrade the OS, as yes, certain versions now disable the Sleep button and change the function of the lock button.
