Default Notification Blinking

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, so I'm fairly new to the BB world (got my Bold 9700 a couple of weeks ago) and I know that when there is something that needs attention, the notification light blinks red.

Well, twice today it has blinked red and twice I cannot find anything. Nothing under downloads, applications, no sms, no bbm, no email, nothing. What am I missing and why is it blinking? Help!

OK...so it blinked red for about 4 minutes and then stopped. What the heck?

Had that happen to me once, too. I have no idea why, but it went away eventually and hasn't been back since.

I also always use the lock button to turn the screen off and from time to time I look over the screen turns on by itself. Gremlins?

Its been discussed elsewhere, there are a few common reasons, the one that it turned out to be for me was weatherbug, if you have that app and there is a weather alert your light will blink without any little icons at the top of the screen.

As far as the screen turning on I don't have any ideas, except maybe a phone call? Or gremlins seems plausable too.

Bluetooth flashes the LED blue, not red.

The culprit for me also turned out to be a weather alert from WeatherBug.
