Question Software for communicating with CNC machines?

Please Login to Remove!

Our REALLY old Palm just quit. We must have had it for 10 years, it had a good run. I was thinking about just using a laptop but I really like having something small and hand-held to transfer files and was wondering if there's anything available for the BB.

Sorry to say but, no. You should probably use a Palm TX. It is still compatable with what quit on you. That was probably a Vx?

Yeah, it was a Vx. I'd love to use my netbook but the USB-to-rs232 adapter cables seem to have a bad reputation and getting a converter box would just be stupid when I could just buy another Palm instead. I'm really surprised there's nothing for a BB.

Depending on your needs, you can research using Bluetooth. It will require an adapter on the receiver. I would also consider using a memory card to store files. If you can xxx8220;loginxxx8221; to the receiver you may be able to use available BB applications for remote access to servers etc.

These are old machines with 3-1/2" floppy drives and rs232 connections. Trying to convert everything to bluetooth seems a bit...overkill.
