Default "X" as E-Mail Symbol

I've noticed this a few times but thought that I would post this question now since I had the time.

After updating my firmware, I noticed that when I go into certain e-mail messages that I've already read, the e-mail symbol in the Inbox changes to a red "X" instead of an "open envelope" icon.

When I go into these messages, the top of the message will say "Message Status: Couldn't send more message" (or something similar) although the message was sent.

Any ideas why this happens?

I've noticed that only once on my BlackBerry. Most likely the email message in the mailbox (source email account) has been moved or deleted; thus it cannot send more of the email (currently truncated on the HH).
