Hello,

on the first days after i bought my BB i used to see GSM besides the signal on home screen

after i purchased the BB data plan and runned wi-fi

it's changed to GPRS

what happened?
what's the difference between GSM and GPRS

GSM is the underlying voice network. No data.

GPRS is the data network that rides on top of GSM.

GPRS means you have a connection to RIM's data network.
I have no idea if you're "wasting data".

You have a data connection available, it won't use data until you use something that uses data.
BBM, browsing, email etc.

so being on GPRS and having BBM turned on doesn't called using data
unless i MESSAGE\ADD ... in the bbm ?
