Default Blackberry App World and WiFi ?

Please Login to Remove!

I am working out of town and there is now carrier coverage here. There is internet so my phone is able to do everything online through wifi but I get this error when trying to download apps (through my laptop w/connected bb)

Device Radio Off
BlackBerry App World requires that your device radio is turned on to continue.

I have googled and googled and fiddled with my phone but cant figure out how to try turn the radio on for the life of me. PLEASE HELP! :o i have the torch w/ latest os.

Touch the display area where the time is shown. The top menu item is Mobile Network. Touch once and a check mark will show that it's On. Yer all set now

hey ernie, i did that but because i am out of network coverage in remote town it just says "searching for network" up top above time but i see the radio tower with x beside it... do i have to be within network coverage to do this?? seems kinda pointless to have blackberry appworld on PC if you have to connect the phone and use all the phone connections anyways doesnt it? but like i say i can connect to wifi no prob.. just hoping i can install apss this way??!! :s

Ah, understood. You do have a problem though. For most of us, App World only works with a network connection (some AT&T customers say it works for them over Wifi but that seems to be an exception). Sorry.

Default Try Older version of Appworld

living in a country were app world dont work, I was using it with wifi after shutting down mobile network.

this stopped working after I have updated to the latest version of app world. It should work with App world 2.0 which you can find on the net.

From my experience, App World up to version 2.0.0.36 worked via wi-fi only. Since 2.0.1.12 it requires network connection (to check that you are in one of the countries covered by AppWorld I believe).

I fell in this trap, and managed to downgrade back to the previous release.

Check which version of AppWorld you are running.
