I have my first BB, an 8530. Is there an app that will allow it to scan barcodes and other such features? I understand the camera resolution may not be fine enough. Is it even possible/

The one I use, I found on Blaclberry Apps - it's called 'Scanlife' and works great on my 8520.

Is there a barcode reader for upc codes that would work for the 8530? I d/l scanlife, but I don't know where I would find the barcodes on products that scanlife supports. (EZcode, datamatrix and QR codes). I only see upc codes everywhere. Thanks.

Any barcode reader app found it appworld should work. I found that they can be a bit fickle sometimes due to the camera on the 85xx series not always focusing sufficiently well enough for the app to read the image.
