Re: Windows messenger error
Try a hard reset.....With power on, remove the battery for at least 30 seconds. Then try again.

Re: Windows messenger error
The only other thing I know to do is delete the app and then reinstall. I'd do a hard reset before reinstalling. If you are still getting the error, you could wait a while and see if it corrects on its own....unless you've been waiting a long time already.
It does sound like a network or server issue and not you, howver.

Re: Windows messenger error
I will follow you advice and see what happens. Have you heard of this problem on the Torch before?

Re: Windows messenger error
I've deleted the application and reinstall it with the hard reset before reistalling. I still get the same error message.

Re: Windows messenger error
How long has it been going on?
For what it's worth, I haven't used any IM app on BlackBerry for a long time, but I recall having similar troubles once in a while when using the Yahoo app. It would clear up on it's own.
There are other things you can try.
- If there is an OS upgrade available for your model (see the latest OS sticky for your model), you could do that.
- You could try a security wipe. Do a full backup. Then do the security wipe. Try the app again before you restore any data. Then restore your data.
- Worst case, wipe the device with JL_CMDR and then reinstall the OS. Resinstall the app and test. Then restore your data from backup, then reinstall add-on and third-party apps as necessary.
I still think it's something beyond your control, but if you have time and desire, try some or all of the above as necessary. If you haven't wiped a device and reinstalled the OS before, you might want to hold off on that until you are at wits end with a problem.

Re: Windows messenger error
..... I did some searching. Some additional ideas:
- long in on a computer, and then fully log out, and then log in on the blackberry
- sign in on the blackberry with a different username and password, log out, then log in with your username
- or sign in on the blackberry with a bogus user name, get the error, then sign in with your username

Re: Windows messenger error
Funny (funny peculiar, not funny haha) about some of the accounts I read while searching, some people could log in with the same username and password on another blackberry, just not with theirs. And what worked as a fix for some worked for some and not for others. And it wasn't just with Windows Messenger. Strange.

Re: Windows messenger error
Make another 'test' account and try and sign in to it on your BlackBerry, this will verify whether there is a problem with your account, or the device, or the WLM Infrastructure.

Re: Windows messenger error
So, it still happens after you log on with that other username, fully log off, then log on with your regular username?
Doesn't sound to me like a problem on your end at all. Sad thing is I don't know what you can do about it but wait and see if it sorts itself out.
