When I signed up with T-mobile I could choose between the Blackberry data set up or unlimited standard internet.

Having never had a Blackberry before I didn't know much about the Blackberry push etc, and so went for the internet, as I guessed I would be able to check my gmail emails and use the internet too.....

However I am having problems with google maps, the facebook app and other data connection issues.

What my question really is, what does the BB data give me? I know it will continually check my emails and I assume it has some sort of permanent connection with facebook, given the appropriate app, but can it be used to connect to the internet, to search for general internet things, football scores etc....if so should I switch my add on?

T-mobile are unlike any other carrier (i know of) in that they split Blackberry data and internet data.

You are required to have the blackberry booster to get all data features working, but also need an internet booster to actually surf the net and use data apps.

The blackberry booster has a 50MB fair use, which is only used for email data [the downloading of email/sending email], with the 1GB fair use of Internet booster being used for all surfing and all data usage of applications.

So, you need both to get all data features.
