Default Curve 8520 32GB Card issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys,

I recently got a 32GB Kingston memory card for my 8520 so i could put all my music on there, there's more than 16gb so i thought has to be 32. The Blackberry itself has Device software version 5.0.0.592 so should theoretically be compatible with 32gb card, which it is. When i plug it in the BB recognises the card and you can view the sotrage from the memory menu in settings. I repaired and reformatted the card using the blackberry. The machine and the card get on fine. The problem arises however with my blackberry desktop software, of which I have the latest version. It likes it when i put my 2gb card int he BB but when I put the 32GB card in it says:

"If your BB device is using bluetooth or is not connected to computer you need to connect it with a USB cable to import and sync media. If your device is already connected, reconnect it to start a new connection. Your device must have mass storage mode turned on and a media card or additional built in media storage for media files."

Which of course it is and it does. So it likes 2GB card, but not 32 despite having all the latest updates...so I'm left with a 32gb card with NOTHING on it

Any ideas???

when you change your device into mass storage mode do you still have this issue or does it pick up on the computer like a USB drive?

Only when 2gb is used does it pick up like a USB, when the 32 is inserted it does not recognise

When you got the seems like it isn't formatted right it should still read even without DTM installed.

did you get the card with the card adapters for it as well? maybe use them to plug it into the computer and format it.

Hi guys, I am running Windows Vista Service Pack 2.
The micro SD came with an adapter so I plugged it into the computer, I thought if the blackberrry software won't recognise it then at least i can transfer files accross from my hard drive onto the card. now it won't copy accross properly, it keeps cutting out after about 1.6-1.7 GB of transfer. Many files arrive corrupted with crazy symbols next to them some of them resemble ipods (My music files are also on an ipod). I'm beginning to think it's the card or the card's relationship with the computer or that my ipod has done something to my music files.
Blackberry reads card fine, computer reads blackberry fine, computer reads blackberry with 2gb card fine but not blackberry with 32gb card. now it's inserted into computer it's throwing random error messages at me and not copying stuff accross.....

ARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!! *tearing hair out!!!
