please help - unknown icon that i cannot figure out what it is. right below the time on my main screen is an yellow envelope with a number 1 to the right & a small white circle with some blue something in the middle...please help...thanks!!!

That sounds like an MMS message.
Check your MMS message folder, or your main Messages folder > press the Menu key > View Folders and scroll down to your MMS Inbox.
