Default Bb 9330

New user to Black Berry. I got a BB9330 running 6.0.0.431 software bundle.

How does one set the frequency of checking email in Data Services? Mine seems to be checking evey few minutes and running through the battery. Every couple of hours would be fine for me.

Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

You don't. That's not how BlackBerry devices work.
BlackBerry uses push messaging, which is more efficient and better for battery life.

The device never checks for mail. Mail is pushed to your device when it's delivered to your messaging server.

No. You cannot change the frequency that RIM pushes email to the device. It is very little drain on the battery since mail is pushed and not pulled by the device.

What sort of battery life are you getting?

And from our FAQ: Maximum Battery Life - BlackBerryFAQ

14 hours sounds like exceptionally good battery life on a CDMA BlackBerry.

Like I said, I am new to BB use and need to get used to to it features and use. I got a BB to use with My scooter's J&M CB/Dual Intercom communication system to pair up with a Garmin Zumo GPS. My Motorola Droid X wouldnt support the phone book features when paired and the BB Curve 9330 does pair perfectly.

BlackBerry devices typically work very well paired to the Garmin Zumo.
