Unhappy Extremely Slow Data Speeds

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

My wife's 9700 has recently experienced some major data performance issues. We first though it was the wireless but we made some changes with our network at home and it's still excruciatingly slow on 3G.

I then backed up all her data and ran a full device wipe and without restoring anything, the data transfers are still VERY slow on 3G where two weeks ago, data speeds were perfectly fine on both 3G and WiFi.

Anyone have any ideas?

Define slow. What are you comparing it with?

Have you tried a battery pull?

Do other devices on the same network/carrier have a similar problem?

Slow as in, when trying to load any web page (in my latest test I used the facebook login), it took over a minute to load said page (I timed it). That's using both 3G and WiFi. On the same network (TELUS in Calgary), side by side at the same time, my iPhone 4 loads fast. I'm aware that the two phones have performance differences but it shouldn't be that slow for her, especially since two weeks ago, before this started, she had no data speed complaints and web pages loaded fine.

I haven't tried a battery pull but I'm pretty sure she has. I'll confirm that.

Loads slow on both, as stated above.

Apps were added but after the last wipe, it was horribly slow immediately after the wipe with no added apps.

Yeah, someone in another thread suggested BBSAK and I think I'll try that.

The wife just got back home and she's pulled the battery so many times since this problem started...well, there's a joke in there somewhere but I'm too tired to be witty.
