Default [9800] Synchronisation problems (BES)

Please Login to Remove!

I recently got a Torch from my employer and everything works perfectly. Well, allmost...
The contact list isn't synchronised to my Torch, there are 200+ BB's in the company and the last three are having problems with the contact list synchronisation.
The BES admin is at a complete loss right now...

The problem is that the option "Wireless Synchronisation" isn't available when I go to the contact list options. It is available at the other items like the calendar and offcourse email.

What we have tried:
1) reactivation, about 5 times
2) delete and undelete the desktop sync service book
3) secure wipe and reactivation

After steps 2 and 3 the option "Wireless Synchronisation" is available for a few minutes but then it is gone again, probably after some data is sent back and forth between my Torch and the BES.

KB10594-Wireless Synchronization option is missing or not available for the contact list, memo list, task list, and calendar

Are the service books not being regenerated when doing a secure wipe and a new activation? Resolution 3 and 4 are the only ones not performed until now but I was under the impression that doing a secure wipe would cause the service books being regenerated.

When you reactivate, are you getting the message of Activation complete?

Have you tried to remove the user from the server and then re-add them? Once that is done, then wipe the device and re-activate.

The problem is solved, the only thing that worked was deleting the BES account and create a new account. After that I did a secure wipe and then everything worked.

It’s not immediately obvious how to turn OFF wireless synchronisation - as the instrcutions on Desktop Manager bears no relationship to what the handset will let you do !!

For me I wanted to SYNC Contacts from my desktop PC 'Outlook contacts list' rather than my 'Hotmail contacts' (which is the 'wireless' syncro they refer to)

For the Torch 9800 I did the following:

Go into Messages folder on your homescreen
Than press BB Menu (button) select Options
Select Email Account management (it may hang as it checks for updated for a few seconds)
Select whichever email account listed you want to turn off 'wireless synchronistion' with (for me it was my Hotmail) press BB Menu (button) select Options
At the bottom is Synchronisation Option, open this and uncheck contacts box, exit and Save
Now it will sync with your Desktop Contact (eg: Outlook) rather than your email contacts
To check -
Go into Desktop Manager
From the left hand list on its home screen select Organiser and check the address book box (assuming you have already gone through the configure settings procedure to select what programmes you are syncing with for each function) For me it was all Outlook.

Blooming well sync's now !......they don’t make it easy do they

If you're on BES then GMail is probably being blocked by an IT Policy. Check with your IT Admins as they can tell you exactly what is allowed.
