Default Can't Download Apps

Please Login to Remove!

For the last week or so we have not been able to download Apps or Games from App World. When I click "download" the little spinner just keeps spinning and spinning. The same goes for a couple of uodated apps we were notified of. Also there is no notification of today's update which is mentioned in this forum. It appears we are disconnected somehow from App World even though the browser works fine so it's not an internet thing. Anyone else have this problem or any suggestions?

Have you logged out of app world and logged back in?

Yes, many times. I must correct something though. I said it was just spinning endlessly. I let it spin again and eventually got a message - "Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blsckberry App World Server. Verify your network connections and try again". The thing is that my connections seem fine. I can surf the net no problem and just now I found today's software update and downloaded it and installed it cleanly. The problem seems to be only in App World. Now that I am past my 90 days RIM is of no help. They replied that they could not process my inquiry when all I was asking was how to return the device! They support for 90 days and warranty for a year but don't want to help you in between. Do they wonder why they get so many returns?? BTW does anyone know how to return it? Can't do it through the retailer.

Yes, picking up wi-fi from home PC. No problem anywhere but AppWorld. I have seen something about Blackberry ID and am looking at that now though it has not been any trouble before.

Through a router. Has been fine for 3 months. No changes along the way with one exception which I am wondering about. I now have a Galaxy Tab which also gets the connection through that router. Timing seems close to when problem started. However as I have said I have no problem connecting to internet or getting the last software download....only app world.

Did you try turning off wifi on the Galaxy Tab and see if the download works then? Maybe not enough bandwidth?

Good thought but the Galaxy has been off numerous times when we tried and the internet connection is as good as ever. I really think that this has to do with Blackberry ID, especially since when I go into settings and click on Blackberry ID it says "retrieving Blackberry ID properties" but doesn't stop. I have tried changing the ID but that has not helped. The only other "solution" I found for this was a security wipe and start from scratch which I hesitate to try because if it doesn't work then the present apps are gone for good and the device becomes useless. I would really like to return the device since it is still under warranty though outside of 90 days support time. I will have to try to find out how to do this from the retailer as Blackberry support won't tell me!
