Default Desktop manager asks for "Device Password"

Please Login to Remove!

Hi
I've just been given an 8520 that was surplus to the company. It has had the BES/Enterprise enabled.

I came here looking to remove the Enterprise settings that the IT dept put on. I have installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager software looking to update the device OS as the first step to removing the security policy but the software is asking for a "Device Password". This does not seem to be the screensaver type password and I suspect it is a security password set up by the IT dept to stop changes being made. (its working!)

As I don't know the password, I can't get any further in Desktop Mgr and so can't remove the IT policy.

Is there any way round this or is the phone junk?

Default Re: Desktop manager asks for "Device Password"

Panic over, I worked it out. Hint for others new to Blackberry's and other QWERTY keyboards: when you type "1234" as a password, you're actually typing "wers" and obviously, it won't work.

Thanks for reading anyway
