Is anyone running into delays receiving text messages from other carriers? Sometimes mine are 3-4 hours late!

I'm sorry but I am glad I switched to SPCS, at least I can use true SMS now. Regardless of what I do I still cannot get MMS to work again on my 7100i.

Default the ultimate riddle for MMS/SMS

my experience has shown that the following is common; for MMS/SMS to & from the following carriers, the delays are:

tmobile = 5-30 minutes
verizon = instantaneous (relatively)
att = 3-5 hours (using an att SIM)
cingular = 1 hour (using a cingular SIM)

i haven't figured out why, or if i'm doing anything to encourage or discourage these delay times. but hope this helps.

I'm with you, man. I don't even BOTHER with the MMS due to the delay. I just send every text as an email. And that works without delays from any carrier. (This was after I got a text 4 days later telling me some important stuff)

I have the 7520 on the nextel network and ive been reading that I am able to recieve SMS... I just cant send them.

Send all texts as emails. Get their text address (which is usually their mobile number @ blah blah.com) and it will go through extremely fast. And it won't go against your text messaging. (Well, this works for me....)

wow, i'm a longtime lurker on here and HoFo and never thought I'd see a post like this from you. how is your new device (asuming thats it in your avatar) compared to the BB?

BTW my texting has been horrendous lately - either huge delays or not receiving messages all together

Ok, so I was pissed off about getting delayed messages too. So, I asked a couple friends on different networks to send me txt messages with the time as the body and it seems like I get Verizon messages really quick, but TMobile, Alltel, Cricket, and Virgin Wireless all take forever. SOOOOOOOOOOOO, I asked my sister, who has Cricket, to send the message with a higher priority and i got it in like ten minutes (as opposed to 3 hrs).

So, maybe, you can ask that person to send it with a higher priority and see what happens....

Word.
