My Blackberry 9700 has red water damage indicators and doesn't work. This happened in Dec 2012 and I bought a new phone. Is it too late now (April 2013) to fix the Blackberry? Do I just throw it away?

You can try to remove the battery and put it in a bag of rice (sealed) for a week.
Probably end up throwing it out, but worth a try. It's probably destroyed.
