Default Contact back-up problem with Q10

Please Login to Remove!

When trying to sync my contacts it usually fails. During the "preparing sync preview" stage there is a message "There was an error performing the sync...Blackberry Link has stopped working". Has anybody else had this problem and found a solution? O2 technical support told me there are a couple of issues relating to Blackberry link which were not resolved as at 13 February. When I called Blackberry to ask if it is now solved they denied any knowledge of any problem with Blackberry Link!

First, anyone denying problems with Link is smoking something.

Are you sure you have the latest version of Link installed?

BlackBerry Link has been problematic from the beginning with local sync and backup. I gave up on it and keep my contacts backed up to a cloud-based service. As a Mac user I use iCloud. I've also used Gmail Contacts. Likewise, my calendar appointments are synced online. Clearly this is an imperfect solution as it only takes care of Contacts and Calendar, but that's the main thing for me. Evernote backs up to their own cloud servers so my notes are always squared away. But backing up my apps is hit or miss with BBLink. I don't know of any current solution for fixing BBLink's issues.
