Hey all, I have just recently purchased my first Blackberry and so far have been very impressed. I work at Cingular, or should I say AT&T, with the news this week, and the 8700c is the BB that I am using with my Cingular service.
I hope to not get abused too much around here. I've been lurking for a week or two and I've seen some pretty good lashings given out to newbies and Cingular employees that made a "mistake." Anyway, I hope to learn as much as possible from this forum as there seems to be a wealth of knowledge and information into the Blackberry community and Blackberry products on this site.
I also work for Cingular as a sales manager. Good to have you aboard. If you notice closely, there are lashings at every service provider. There will always be someone that doesnt like something. You have the right idea though and are taking a step in the right direction to learn as much as possible so that you dont make those mistakes. There are a couple of threads that I would like to point you to first:
I have been impressed so far with my 8703e with Verizon. I had a 7105t with T-Mobile for a year and loved it. Switched to VZW recently for their Chaperone program and got my daughter a Migo. My wife loved her RZR with TM, and was able to get one with VZW. Of course the only down side is the lack of GPS with the BB (GPS maps are available for their enabled phones, Get it Now, V-Cast, etc.). Even though the 8703e is inherently GPS capable as is its Sprint counterpart, VZW it seems wanted to push their multimedia equipment more and did not make it "active." I started with the V, but quickly went back to BB. Plan is to go with Wayfinder Navigator, and Globalstat BT359W after reading stinsonddogs extensive GPS review. I signed the petition also, ONE MAN ONE VOTE!
