Not sure which forum this belongs in
I have two users who were IM'ing each other on Blackberry Messenger. Call them Fred and Barney. Now, on Barney's Blackberry, down where you would normally see "Fred is typing a message" it says "Fred says (ding)" for about 4 seconds, then says "Fred says Hey..." for about 4 seconds, then back to Ding. And so on. Fred is not actually typing Ding or Hey... or whatever. I don't have a lot of experience troubleshooting the IM--- I usually stick to the servers--- but the two users are quite annoyed. Tried closing the IM app, taking the battery out, reset device... no luck. Any suggestions?

Devices are Nextel, one is 7510, one is 7520, both running v4.0.2 software and v 1.0.86 messenger.

there's a new version of Messenger available (1.0.94), so you might want to try uninstalling it and reinstalling the newer version (don't just 'upgrade')

This occurs on the new release aswell.
When this occurs, open the Chat Window, Click for the menu.
There is an option that says something like Switch Conversation or something to that affect. Select and click this option.

Alternatively Try Power off, Remove Batt and replace.
