Okay - I had a 7230 for a week and got comfortable- then I was offered the 7100t for $50 so I upgraded. So far so good.
Here are my questions- Take it easy on me-

1)is there a link for tip/shortcuts/hints for the 7100t?
2)Is it worth upgrading to 4.0?
3)I tried installing themes but when I add from the app loader it doesnt recognize the file - Am I doing something wrong?
4)I hate the case it comes with - what are people using?- I also miss the cradle- does anyone make a cradle for the 7100?
5)how do I put new ringtones on the phone?
6) I can't seem to save pics on the device- How?

Yes - Check out this link - http://www.blackberryforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=19 - most items will work on the 7100t. It is really not that much different.

Is it worth upgrading to 4.0?

If you have a BES (with v4.0) then definitely yes. If not, wait for BES or BWC 4.0

I hate to say it, but reread the Themes thread - it does work. Not sure what is going on with your BB.

Yeah, I am not fond of the case either. There are a few aftermarket cases out there - check some of the sponsor threads (eAccess is one I use), but there really isn't much out there for the 7100t. The cradle is just a stand... I learned to live without it

Same way; they have to be on a web site. You can not mail or upload them. You must save them to a web site, and then browse to the web site and select the item. Works for both.

Thanks - As far as the BES 4.0
not sure what that is. I use the software on my office computer. It is always running and pushes my corporate email to my berry. I also have tmobile push my personal account. We don't have a actual BB server.
Should I still upgrade to 4.0?

If you have a PC based program pushing your e-mail, you have the "Desktop Redirector". Works fine; you just have to obviously leave the PC up and running 24X7.

Without BES 4.0, there isn't that much difference between the 3.8 that comes on the 7100t and the 4.0. Personally, I always upgrade

You can upgrade - everything will continue to work.

As for Themes, ConanLloyd has them hosted here:

It should have an ALX file that will load the themes.
