I'm not sure which firmware I can upgrade to. I just got my T-Mobile BB in today and heres the specs in About.

Blackberry 7100
Wireless Handheld
v3.8.0.128 (Platform 1.8.0.83)
Cryptographic Kernel v3.8.0.18

I know it is behind a few versions in firmware since it says last upgrade was 2004. Which one should I use for it to grade? The phone is locked to T-Mobile if that makes a difference.

I would upgrade to the hong kong CSL version of 4.1, i just upgraded my 7100r to it today and it works great. you can find instructions on how to do it if you search the forum.

If you want to stay with the approved release from T-Mobile, which is v4.0...
