I don't think that's what he's asking.
He dials an access number and gets a new dial tone from the LD carrier. From here he triggers a new call using DMTF tones against the new long tone.
By creating a conference call/3-way call, you are defeating the purpose of avoiding long distance tolls on your mobile.
I have this same problem. It doesn't seem as though there is a work around with the blackberry. I have gotten in the habit of just programming a second phone number with the carrier number in front of the long distance number.
ie: phone number is 212-555-5555 and your long distance carrier number is 416-222-2222, I enter the regular 212-555-5555 in the Main phone slot and then insert 416-222-2222pp212-555-5555 in the other slot. When I dial out, I would choose other rather than Main.
I hope that makes sense. Sorry there's not an easier way.
