I have a test bes 4.1 server for domino that I have put up. I have two new users on this server. I want to migrate a user currently on bes 2.2 for domino to this 4.1 server. I have heard weird things happening to lotus notes email and calender, and I was wondering if anybody has done this before. Do I need to remove references to the state db's on the notes workspace?

WIth 4.1 since its wireless activation, once I remove the user from the bes 2.2 and add the user to bes 4.1, does everything happen automatically once I have the user run desktop manager?

Has anyone seen any docs to do this?

To migrate users to bes 4.x do the following. First make sure that the device has been upgraded first.to check this goto options icon scroll to about
the ver should be 4.x once this has been verified make sure the desktop mgr is also 4.x (desktop mgr is optional in when running bes 4.x) open the Blackberry Manager select the BES 4.x server click on the Server Configuration tab click on Accounts select Import users from legacy server
select the 2.2 server where the user(s) reside search for the user in the list and begin the import click finish when done. once the user appears on the BES 4.x server highlight the user goto service access tab on the right side of the Blackberry Mgr select set Activation password fill in the info.
from the blackberry goto enterprise activation fill in the info click the track wheel and activate the user. it should take 10-20 minutes

I have recently upgraded to BES 4.1. All services are running on the same machine. The installation went fine I did recieve the following install error however.

The MDS Database was created fine I am able to view the database.

When i try to connect to the MDS Services which is listening on port 7080. i get an error message: There are errors in retrieving data from the server. Please refer to log for more information. When i do a NETSTAT -A it does not show port 7080.

The logs show:

Are you using the same SQL account for the MDS service and config database?

You are using a SQL port other than default 1433.
