Default Blacklight issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my 8700c unlocked and running on T-Mobile for 2 months now.

I have never had an issue with the device or EVER dropped it.

Just today, I have started having a major problem with the backlight. Normally, there are 2 settings. One is full power and the other is slightly dimmer (just like when you first pull it out of the holster when you are inside an office). Well, now the fist setting is about 98% dark, and you can barely see the icon screen. I have to press the brightness setting on the top of the device to the full brightness setting EVERY SINGLE TIME when I take it from the holster or when the screen has dimmed to dark.

My options setting in Screen/Keyboard are set at:
Backlight Brightness: 100
Backlight Timeout: 45 sec
Automatic Backlight: On
LED Coverage Indicator: On

Any thoughts?

Try setting Backlight Brightness to 100 which is the default when using Automatic Backlight.
You have it at the lowest possible setting and therein lies your problem.

I corrected my post. It has been set at 100 the entire time.

Sounds like the auto-dimmer bit is broken. What happens if you set Automatic Backlight: Off ?

That is good advice but hopefully the Automatic Backlight isn't broken.
When all else fails, do a reboot. (Remove the battery, wait a minute, put it back in.) It solves a surprisingly large number of problems.

No problem. You gave the helpful advice I would have given, so I figured I didn't need to.

I know this question is out of place in this thread, but I've been searching and this thread was most applicable to my question.

Is there an automatic baklight setting on the 7290? ANy third party add-ons?

Search for and download BBLight. It does much of what you are looking for.

I turned my automatic backlight off. I found it to be annoying.

100% light is not 100% light (yeah, I know). Really. On any 8700, set it to 100%, then tap the button, it gets brighter, tap it again, it goes dark.
Go figure.

Did you find a solution to this issue?

My 8700c just started to suffer from this annoying issue today.
