Alt + S not working
Please Login to Remove!
I'm no longer able to use the Alt + S shortcut to just show SMS messages. Any idea how to restore this? Thanks.

What BB model, version, etc are you using? Did you recently upgrade your OS, etc? Details man, details!

The search function in the modern OS have programable keys. Try Alt-M but see my tips doc and see how to define them for yourself.

Sorry, I was boarding a plane. I have an 8700g, no upgrades or recent software installs. Anything else I should add?

SOunds like you 'searches' were deleted. Do this: Go to messages....wheelclick, search, wheelclick, recall. are they in that list? If not you can recreate them...
Go to messages....wheelclick, go to view folder, (for example) scroll to SMS Inbox...click it...now your SMS Inbox messages are on the screen. Now wheelclick, search, wheelclick, save, put in 'SMS Messages' for the title and make the shortcut key 's'. Just to double check yourself, look down and make sure that the folder says SMS Inbox. Hit save. Repeat for other folders.

This was indeed the problem. I'm glad you knew this because I didn't have a clue about this. It somehow was switched to Alt + A for SMS messages. Just so I can check. Do you happen to know the defaults for the other ones? Here's what I have.
Incoming (u)
MMS Messages (m)
Outgoing (o)
Phone Calls (o) - I assume this is wrong
SMS Messages (s)
Voicemail Messages (c)
I'm sure I can set them to whatever but I'd like to at least know the defaults.

Sorry, webdesigning is frying my brain.
It would help if I pushed "alt" down with the "s"
Sorry about that

Vodafone Today Shortcuts:
Saved Messages
Search
Calculator
Compose
MemoPad
Tasks
Contacts
Alarm
Profiles
Settings
Keyboard Lock
Enterprise Messenger (Q)
Other Vodafone Today shortcuts (not listed on applications list):
WAP Browser
Phone
Calendar
Browser (default Browser)
BlackBerry Messenger
Looks like C is a shortcut key for both Compose and Contacts. If both are enabled, then the first one that was selected will be the shortcut key (e.g - Contacts was shown and Compose was hidden, so if I enable Compose, then Contacts will still be the shortcut key; however, if I hide Contacts, then Compose will be the active C shortcut key).
Also, the Vodafone Today theme does not allow you to set your background image, which is okay, as it is obviously apparent that they spent a LOT of time making this theme VERY sleek and neat in design. Kudos to them.
Dimension Today Shortcuts:
Messages
Address Book
Keyboard Lock
Options
Calendar
Alarm
Enterprise Messenger (Q)
Profiles
Tasks
Calculator
Search
BlackBerry Messenger
For both Today themes, you are unable to change the sections on the home screen or rearrange the order of what is present. This will be viewed as a downside of the themes for most who are used to Zen or one of the icon-based themes. There are no stocks, RSS feeds, etc., so those of you who are used to the commercial 'Today' screens will likely be unimpressed with RIM's efforts on these - but atleast they are keeping companies such as Cross River Systems pacified in knowing that their stock offering is not going to compete with a commercial product in terms of robust functionality.
