Default HTML browsing on 7290

Please Login to Remove!

I can only browse WML pages on my 7290.
I tried to use rbro to change to WML & HTML, but I dont have the option to change, only "WML only"

Anyone know how to allow html content?

You'll have to use a BES or the Reqwireless browser. The RBRO trick doesn't work on 7290's.

Hang on...

Many can do it without a BES, or with MDS It depends on what services your provider offers. Who are you with?

I can use the blackberry HTML browser on my 7290 (previously with 3.8 and now with 4.0). I am with Rogers Wireless.

I was able to browse WML & HTML using the t-zones browser on my 7290 with T-Mobile. The other day the Browser icon appeared -- seems to have the same functionality. I'm BWC only.

You might want to mention what service you're with and which browser you happen to be using. In my case, I was stuck on AT&T's mMode WML-only browser. It wasn't until I contact AT&T BB support that they downloaded and activated BB's "Internet Browser" which allowed fully HTML and WML browsing. You might be in the same boat, so contacting your carrier's support might be the next step if you haven't already.

MadMedik, is there any limitation on what sites can be viewed with the new Internet Browser on Rogers?
I have some sites that I cannot get to with the Internet Browser, but I can get to with the Blackberry Browser (BES). The error I get is: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later." If I try the same site with the Blackberry Browser, it works.
I had called Rogers to have the "internet.com" apn added and they said they did it.
(I'm using Rogers 4.0).

Hey Mike,

I'm still scaling the learning curve here so I can't profess to give you a perfect answer to that. So far, the biggest hurdle I have run into is the strong encryption (128 bit) sites. Other than that, I have had very few problems (other than speed...)
