what do you mean by "export"?
if you are looking for the files themselves; they are in the simulator-directory of your JDE-bin-path

hth,
simon

you downloaded applications with your simulator from the internet and installed them on your simulator and want to "export" the applications, i.e. use them on a real device?
as i said, all apps running on the simulator are located in the simulators directory on your HDD.

or do you want to load applications into your simulator? you can do thins by "load java program" and open the jad-file, then

Thx for replay. My object is to install application into simulator by internet and then export it for real device. I ever investigated simulator directory and could find downloaded software. It seems they exist in simulator dump only, not same as general .cod file.

Can you use the simulator to load apps and then backup the device while using the simulator and then shut down the program and connect you berry and restore that backup?

I may be wrong but i think that works?

any reason you can't just install the thing on a normal device the usual way? You lose all the application descriptor files when you install the app, and so you'd have to recreate ALX files or whatever.
You say you downloaded the application and installed it onto the simulator from the Internet, which sounds like an OTA install. In that case, that install should work for the device itself.

Basically what I am saying is that you are making the problem more difficult for yourself by going the very long and circuititous route instead of the simple solution.

The reason I try to do then is that no BB service is provided by local carrier. So my BB can't use gprs to browe internet as usual way. I have to OTA install some softwares into simulator and then install into real device.

if you download software on your simulator all you get is the cod-file (located in your simulator-directory). This is not enough to install a file.
You need either a jad-file (for OTA) or an alx-file (to use with the desktop software).

contact the distributor of the software if they offer an alx-file.
as far as i understand you have no access to either a LAN nor the internet with your device, installing the application via desktop software seems to be the easiest way to do it.

A) Wrong thread.
B) There is no such thing as a file system on a BB. Not yet, at least. 4.2 might have it.
