Why does my 8700c displayed time fall behind? It seems to "lose" a minute or two every day or two if I don't reset it from the network. Isn't there a clock chip in the blackberry?

Do you have it set to network or blackberry? I have mine set to blackberry and its rock sold on keeping time.

Options -- Date / Time -- Date / Time Source

i have mine set to "network" and i have never experienced any problems

I have this problem...its behind by a minute or two. Currently set to the Network but will try changing to Blackberry.
