Default Do you receive emails faster with BIS 1.8 than..

Please Login to Remove!

I tried yesterday BIS 2.0, and while I was pleased with the options it has to offer, I was dissapointed on the email receiving performance.

I have 2 pop accounts, a hotmail and a gmai account. The way I have it setup is that ,for spam control purposes, one of the pop is forwarded to my gmail then the gmail forwarded to my handheld while the other pop is forwarded directly to my handheld. The hotmail account is being "pulled" from BIS and usually takes anywhere from 10 to 15 min to received the email. I know this is normal. My other emails (gmail and pop) are delivered to my handheld almost instantly (within 2 to 7 seconds)

When I upgraded yesterday to BIS 2.0, I setup the accounts and recived the corresponding service books. Then I stooped all forwarding to my blackberry and let BIS 2.0 get the emails. Everything was running smothly until I tried sending emails to myself. I did receive all of them but most of them took at least 5 to 10 minutes to reach my handheld. This happened even with the blackberry.com address. Is this normal with this type of system?

Now my q is, is the forwarding method used by most of us on BIS 1.8 faster than the new method of 2.0?
Just a note, I even tried the forwarding method on 2.0 to my blackberry.com account and it still took about 5 minutes to receive emails.
Please share your thoughts and experiences with the new BIS and asses if this is normal behaviour of the new system.

If you want to go back to 1.8 and they tell you that you cant, please let me know and I'll give you instructions on how to do it..

Yes, the way I have it set up is my bis doesn't get my emails, .mac fow ards them to my blackberry address, so its pretty quick. The only thing that sucks about this method is you can't "reply" with it, you have to create a new email

Try doing this http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=35040
It worked well for me with my GMail account. I get messages as they arrive. I just have all my pop accounts forwarded to GMAIL.

Ok, ask data support to delete your bis account and release your bb pin and imei.

register yourself allover again and you'll be on 1.8
Note- I dont know how long this process will work for

Amen Brother, that's why I had them remove me from BIS via tech support chat, they were swamped so I just told them, "Hey, I'm going to make this easy for you, just delete my account from BIS and username and I will set it up again."
