hi guys...Im having issues with saved sent messages...the options on the BES only provide for messages sent from handheld not to be saved in the sent folder of the desktop email client. However i would like to stop sent messages getting stored on the handheld whenever messegesa are sent from both the desktop email and the handheld..the desktop manager has been set to all the right things and i still get sent messages from lotus notes saved on the handheld....Anybody got any ideas???

NO idea if this will help your issue, but there's an option to try on the handheld:

Messages > Options > Email Settings

Save Copy in Sent Folder: No

Not sure if that helps what you're looking for or not...

yea thats just the basic email option setting, its been set to 'No' so thats not the problem. that setting does the same thing the one on the server does..it doesnt save sent messages in the desktop email sent folder. i realise with messages sent from the handheld..that seems to be a standard feature but i was trying to stop messages sent from the desktop email from being saved on the handheld as well........I think ive figured it out though, im gonna wait till ive tested it first though but when you go in folder redirection under email settings ive unchecked the sent folder in there, for some reason it was still checked on the desktop manager so i unchecked that too and re-applied...lets see how it works. but thanks a bunch for your response, nobody seemed to be getting back to me

I just came across that same problem. I went into the Desktop Manager and into Redirector Settings. I clicked the Advanced Tab and then clicked the "Select Folders" under the re-direction settings. From there I selected my Inbox only and hopefully that will solve your problem (and mine!)

I just tried a test and what I did above appears to have worked. The sent items from Outlook are not sync'd to the handheld.

Don't think that will do it either - I have been trying to stop the sent items from the email client from going to the bb since 4.0 added that "feature". I don't have anything other than Inbox and a personal folder being redirected, Sent is not checked and I get every sent message on my bb... I have lots of users who would love to stop this too!!!

Same question from me too. I've got a lot of users who want to stop the sent messages to be showed in the messages list. Anything I can do from the blackberry server regarding to this issue? The Alt + i Option only help me temporary. Please somebody give me some advice...
