I had thought that I would be able to use a Rogers 'navigate mobile internet' data plans on my BB but I have since found out that this is not possible. Can this be verififed ....

What I was going to get was a Voice Only plan ($25.00/month for free evenings and weekends) and the 2mb data plan as seen here. I know I wouldn't have gotten push e-mail, but I would be able to log into a webmail system etc.

I have since been told that the blackberry will not connect using the data plan. It has to use a more expensive ($40 or $60 BB) Blackberry plan.

Can this be verified. Are there any workarounds or do I need to just get the BB plan?

Yes, you do need to get a BlackBerry plan.

I would not trust the $40 plan though if you use the web. Web browsing will quickly get you over the cap of the $40 plan. (You need the $60 plan)

Loading http://news.google.com for example, just 10 times, will shockingly get you over the cap for the $40 plan. Yes, just 10 webpages, and then you may end up paying hundreds of dollars. Do not get the $40 PLAN -- you will be bitten on your behind if you use HTML browsing.

Get the $60 plan. Although the 25meg cap is kind of paltry.
