Default 7100t vs 7100g

Please Login to Remove!

I am new to this forum so don't be afraid to tell me if I am doing something wrong or if the question has already been asked. I have recently been looking for a phone. I have just tried the 7290 and loved it. I heard that the 7100g was coming out as well as the treo 650. Since the 7100g was not in yet, I decided to try the treo 650. Its been ok, but I miss the push email and the convenience of the BB. I have done some reading and cannot seem to find out any information about the 7100g vs the 7100t. I am looking for what the differences are? All I can see is that the 7100t has an option for IM but the 7100g does not. Can someone help me determine the differences? I am at a point where I could go with either device, but want to see if one is better over the other. Does the 7100g offer IM? Does it offer EDGE? Having IM is somewhat important to me as that is a key way I communicate with my offices. If the 7100g does not offer IM, does anyone know why not? Can you get IM and is it as fast and reliable? I know this is a lot for now. Please let me in on some of these things so I can make sure I make the right decision on the right device. Thanks again for your help.

If you want push email on the Treo 650, try Chatter Email. www.chatteremail.com

Yea, the chatter mail is really close to actual Push email like on the BB.

I'm in the process of ordering this phone as we speak... But wait -- It doesn't have IM built in?

IM is only on the 7100t because T-Mobile added it. I havn't used it but I beleive its just WAP based which is pretty crappy anyway.

7100[t/g/r/x] are all technically the same, they only look different. You will be able to use any 3rd party IM apps like VeriChat, WebMessenger (Both support AOL/MSN/Yahoo!/ICQ)
