What is the trick to get the batery door off? Only once I was able to get it off without trouble - unfortunately I have not been able to repeat it.

All I do is push down on the button on the bottom and then try to wiggle my finger into the crack on the top of the cover - it works..but it isn't easy.

I use a pen to press on the latch - not worth breaking a finger nail!

when i first got mine, i couldn't get it off and tried using a small screwdriver and ended up putting a long scratch on the door. but now i know the trick.
