Voice mail icon is showing 1 message waiting. Checked messages - nothing there.

Removed battery, removed SIM card, still showing 1 message waiting.

Any suggestions how to fix it?

I suggest placing a call and recording a quick test on your voice mail. Then access it and clear it. That usually clears the carrier's voice mail system.

I had a similar problem a few years ago. The only solution that worked was having a CS rep put in a request with the network to clear what he called a "ghost." When I asked if this was a common problem (as they had a term for it) he simply nodded sagely. Fortunately, it's never happened since.
