With futher consideration your situation it may not be as bad as i first thought.
I may have read into your question to deeply at first.
The first obsticle may not be an issue, IF!
The second issue is not as bad if both phone companies sold same series of BB ex.(7100t v.7100g, 7130t v. 7130g or whatever) if they do then you will need the following info: new carriers PIN,IMEI,HRT settings/config info.
If they sold different series ex. (7100t V. 7130g) only, then you may be out of luck.
I belive with the PIN,IMEI,HRT info from new carrier and phone registered with new carrier with this info will work. I'm almost positive that it will.
This info if they ever carried a like series BB is avalable from them. If they say they dont then that support tech is wrong and you may need to talk to someone else and be persistant
