Default Sprint 7130e - stuck at bootup (hourglass)

Please Login to Remove!

I have a user in Texas (and I'm in Michigan) who just received his 7130e yesterday. Everything worked fine - enterprise activation, email, phone calls, etc. The only thing that didn't update is the 'my number' field after I had his number ported over (the port worked fine, too). To update the my number field, I had him pop out the battery.

The first time he did that it stayed at the spinning hourglass for over an hour. He then popped out the battery and left it out for several minutes and and tried it again. It's now at 40+ minutes of the spinning hourglass.

Is this a case of 'reload the OS'? That'll be fun over the phone.....

Mine does that. I just keep pulling the battery and popping it back in. Sometimes I smack it a little. Usually take ~5 times to finish up.

If you don't want to impliment this decidedly professional approach (ha) then I recommend remoting into the user's pc or your management pc and doing a reload of the OS from where you are and talking him through the enterprise setup. I do this all the time, sometimes I will use the user, or sometimes I will use one of the more savvy users in the remote location.

I have an instruction sheet for reloading the OS in several ways, with screenshhots. I can email it to you in a .doc if you want to send it to him.

Or just smack it ;)

I will take any documentation you are willing to share (why reinvent the [track]wheel?). Feel free to send me a PM or PIN.

Thanks!!
