Default BIS 2.1 Gmail Bug

Please Login to Remove!

Seems like the new BIS 2.1 has an Gmail bug. Whenever I send or reply to an email via my Gmail account My gmail account will send a copy to my blackberry. Thanks in advance!

Gmail has always worked like that for me on 2.x. I don't think it's a bug.

not a bug - you need to add a filter.

Filter out messages that originate from your gmail address.

The only pitfall is that if you want to send yourself a reminder (e.g. "pay rent") you have to do it from another account or you won't get it on your BB.

BIS 2.1 saves your message in your sent mail folder on gmail. So it sends a copy to itself.

Would you filter on the BIS or on Gmail?

Haven't found a way to filter on Gmail yet, except to setup a filter to delete email From [email address] - but this places sent mail from the BB to the trash folder on Gmail.

I filter from gmail... setup your filter as described in this thread.

The key is the "-" (not) in front of your email address. It tells gmail to forward all mail that is NOT from [email address] to [email address]. That way, assuming your 'berry is set up to use [email address] as the "FROM" address, email you send from the berry won't come back to you.

To filter on BIS, you would do basically the same thing. If an email is FROM [email address], then "Do Not Deliver to Handheld."

I prefer to let Gmail do the work, though.

EDIT: Although apparently now that Gmail is "integrated" there is no need to setup a forwarding rule. Although I can also attest to the fact that there is a glitch in the "full integration" that does bounce you back a copy of your Sent messages. To my thinking, integration means integration. If you have to manually set up a filter, it's not fully integrated... Just my $0.02.
