Default Battery dying fast

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my berry for about a month now. The first week I had it, the battery lasted for ever, i think it lasted about 5 days with tones of usage. Now it barley lasts a day with little usage. Does anybody know any ways that I should be preserving battary life? Also, does anybody notice that the battery dies quicker with the auto on/off feature on?

The same thing happened to me. Do you have ramble or VeriChat or any other I'm type program running? The constant data use drains the battery quite quickly.

I use the auto on/off feature and my battery seems fine. The only time i notice quick drainage is when google talk is on all day. Still get about two days out of it though.

Default How do you charge your BB?

I have noticed that when I charge my BB 8700g with the USB connected to my computer, I get a longer lasting charge

vs

when I charge directly connected to a wall outlet or auto, I get a charge that does not last as long, i.e., the charge may show 100% charged, but it drains faster than when charged via USB connected to my desktop.

Default Using Google Local?

Google Local, if left on, rapidly drains the battery.

I have a 8700G and already have my second battery. I am sure there is a bad batch of batteries out there. Mine lasted about 3 months. I went from 1/2 day battery drain to 2 days when I replaced the battery.

Being in an area with poor coverage and leaving Bluetooth on all the time will also kill your battery faster (though I always leave Bluetooth on without any problems).
