I dont know if this is new..but...

ver 4.1...I have created a group for users who dont use their blackberries. All of these users have their redirection disabled. Everytime I go and I notice that their redirection has become enabled again.

what is up with that? can someone please tell me whats up? Should I create a policy for them that doesn't allow them service from the bes..how come they will not stay disabled?

Maybe I am confused. If they don't use their BlackBerry, can't you just delete their BES accounts?

sure in the real world, but this is the federal government and I'm just a contractor. I really like my job. If they want to pay for the service even though, I keep telling them that these users are not using their bb.

Who cares....

If that is the case ,I suggest you disable the users.

Disabling Email redirection is more of a user controlled feature, even if you disable email redirection from the Server ,the user can always enable it directly from the device or using desktop Manager.

There is no IT policy to block messages.

I have ran into such situations where users were only allowed to use the Blackberrry for PIM sync and no messaging, the only way to implement that was to create a seprate Exchange Account for that purpose.

There is a policy setting in 4.1 (not sure about earlier versions) 'Enable Wireless Message Reconciliation' which you can disable.

From what I'm reading, if you have reconciliation enabled on your server, all users on that server will have reconciliation enabled by default, unless explicitly configured not to (i.e. setting above policy setting to 'disabled').

There is also another policy setting 'Disable MDS Runtime Environment' which should disable all data services on the devices.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for.
