Problem: I am trying to connect my Sony Clie PEG-UX50 to my 8700g. I can successfully pair them but when I try to connect to send/receive I get the following error on the PDA side:

Phone Error
Unable to connect to phone.

Please check your settings and make sure the phone is ready

While the BB has a white screen that says, "Connecting to desktop" while the PDA is trying to connect.

Now I am sure you are asking why I don't just use the BB for SMS messaging. Good and valid question, here is why.

The building I work in has VERY poor signal for Tmo. I can however leave it in a couple of spots in my office that will get a bar (or even two every now and then) but to get up and get it at regular intervals would be a hassle (yes I am a lazy bas**rd). I had the Clie' prior to my BB and it has just been sitting there so I thought this would be a good way for it to still be used, even it is kind of over kill.

It worked before with my Nokia N-Gage QD and I would think (hope) it would work with my BB. Is this possible? Or should I get a metal bowl like are used in cheap long range wifi and keep it in there on my desk?

While you can pair the Clie to the BlackBerry, you can not do anything with it. No transferring files, nothing. The BT on a BlackBerry, as documented on these forums MANY times, can do wireless headsets and sync PIM data to your PC. That's it.
