Default Pocketmac and 8703e?

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone been able to get pocketmac and the 8703e to work? When I plug my device in and open pocketmac, it says "No Blackberry Connected"

Any thoughts?

I emailed the support team and they said that they DO support the 8703. However, I still get the same error message "No Blackberry Connected".

Hmmm.....

I am not sure why it would not work though since it is based on the 8700 series... Hopefully someone with some programming saavy can shed some light on what may be going wrong..

Default Same thing

Hello All,

Just switched to the 8703e from a Moto Q today. One of the reasons was to have a way to sync with ical and such. I am having the same results with pocketmac as the intial poster. The icon in the top bar shows it connected but when you attempt to sync it reports that no bb is connected...

Anyone have some suggestions?

Thanks,
Scott

Default Same thing with my 7250

I get the same not connected message, but when I actually sync, it asks for my password and syncs

Default Application terminates

Interesting... I can't get further. I Show Pocketmac, and then I get the error message showing the BB is not connected, and the application terminates.

How did you get to actually sync?

Wondering if this is a pocketmac issue, or a BB setup issue. I did not change anything with Entourage or iSync and the 7130e syncs just fine and shows it is connected when it is.

I know us Mac users are the minority, but hoping anyone who has had success can walk us through this.

I submitted a ticket to PocketMac.. hopefully they will have some thoughts as well.. I just want to sync once at least so I can get my contacts on the phone! Then I will be happy waiting for PocketMac to come out with a fix..

Default Wrong BB

tobenning,

Unless I am misreading your post we are talking about two entirely different bb's. We were talking about the new Verizon 8703e not being able to sync. and you are syncing a 7250.

Also anybody heard from Pocketmac? I submitted a ticket yesterday and have yet to hear from them.

Scott

EDITED: Tobenning, my apologies I see in your original post that you mentioned it was a 7250 in the title.

Well isn't this helpful. Pocketmac emailed me back and said this:

"You will need to use USB. If it is not connecting:
shutdown the Mac
restart the BlackBerry (take out the battery for 30 seconds)
startup the Mac
be sure to plug in with USB"

hmmm....

Default No luck still

Here is where I am at:
- I can't get the 8703e to get recognized, but the 7130e works just fine
- I posted a ticket to pocketmac and have not heard back at all
- I used a Windows PC to sync my calendar, tasks, contacts, and notes to Outlook (from the 7130e) and then plugged in the 8703e to sync back
> My plan is to just put all appts and contacts in the BB until they have a PM fix for the 8703e.

I am using Entourage 2004 11.2.5 and OSX 10.4.7
I have a 17" Mac Book Pro with 2GB RAM and Parallels Desktop running

(I tried using the Parallels partition to do what I described above to populate the 8703e but had no luck. I struggled for about an hour, using the Terminal commands to disable and enable USB for PM on the apple side, then decided to just use a PC at work . The export/import from old and new BB took about 10 minutes total.

Thanks for reading. Hope PM gets fixed soon, as I do need to sync, especially to backup my data.

Same problem as all of you!!
I love my 8703 but HATE that it won't sync. I sent a ticket in to PM and hopefully by now they're getting the point that there's a support issue here. I have a feeling they'll either fix it or include it in the 4.0 upgrade which is coming in the next week or so anyway. I will of course keep you all posted with any response from them.
Evan

p.s- wouldn't you just love it if 4.0 included bluetooth syncing for us?? thats something i'd pay $$ for.

hey what would you guys suggest I do?

I am a mac guy. I do not yet have an intel mac. But do own a powerful g5.

what would I do to achieve a one time sync to get my contacts about 400 on to the 8703e. I can then wipe it once pocketmac 4.0 comes out and then start syncing.

I just want to get all my contact's at least on it once while I wait for PM 4.0

Export your entire thing to vCard or entourage, take that to a friends house who has a PC, load it on using the migration assistant(it'll help you load all different forms of contacts etc.)

thats at least what I did.
