I'm an IT guy for a company and one of our users has a 8700 from cingular and the ringtone is very quiet when he gets a call. On the blackberry when he scrolls throught the tones they are very loud. I've messed with all of the settings and I can't get around the problem. Is there a firmware update or something for this problem?

Check the speaker phone volume. It is the secret master volume control of the 8700c.

yeah, I ran into this last week and found the answer here. Make a call using the speakerphone and adjust the volume to its' highest level. End the call and your ring tones will be back to normal. Hope this helps.
