Question can't get bb to dial number from address book

Please Login to Remove!

when I click on a contact in my address book and select "call contact" by clicking the track wheel, shouldn't it begin dialing the number???? it isn't doing this? anybody know why??? When I click the trackwheel OR hit the send key, it takes me straight to the call log list, but doesn't dial the number???!!!

thanks

bck

On my 8700g, when I click on an entry in the address book, the menu gives the choice of "Call Home" or "Call Office" or which ever field I have listed that contact's number(s). Check your address book entry and see where you have the number list, in which field. If you don't have a phone number listed for an entry, it won't even give you a choice to "Call..."

I had that on a 7290, took the battery out for a few seconds, and put it back in. working fine now.

Now you're learning the first fix to most every problem on a BB... reboot. Much like a PC, eh?

just wonder it since I am so new to BB

the "turn the power off" icon does not seem to "really" turn off the device. whenever I touch the keypad, it gets turn it back on.

However, on my other non-BB phones, the "turn off" function does turn it off completely.

Did I use the correct icon to turn off the phone?

Power off does turn if off but it doesn't perform a hard reset which is what you need for most troubleshooting.
