I just noticed that on the RIM site for the Blackberry's Owner's Lounge, it shows a picture of a man taking a picture of himself and his girlfriend (?). The camera is being held on its side ("landscape" mode). How do you get the camera to do this? Mine always shows the image in portrait mode (holding camera upright).

Is anyone able to do this?

I was wondering about that myself. I have no idea if it is even a feature of the camera.

?? you can just hold it that way and take a picture. It makes your pic taller than wide so actually its more portrait mode.
