Default Auto DIM feature Not working right after Rogers OS upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

has anyone else noticed that sometimes the Auto dim feature works perfect and sometimes it will not adjust for bright light conditions? I know that we have lost the setting to turn this feature on and off with the upgrade but now it seams in the sun the phone will not adjust to the bright light everytime I have to put it in standby and then take it back out and it will work right. It works every time going into dimmer lighting sources just seems to mess up by not getting bright enough in bright lights.

I have not noticed any problems with mine, but I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I notice it.

I concur. It seemed to work better before the upgrade. I'd love to see a button or hot key assigned to it to kick it up to 100% when needed.

they have, but it is buried so deep in there I can't find it scrolling thru.

I've noticed the auto-dim bug. the idea of a keystroke to knock it up to 100% is fabulous.

Hey Nitty the Auto dim being locked on is talked about not it not working sometimes but thanks for input. I'm glad to see im not the only one with this issue and dont have to wipe and reload. I guess we are sitting here waiting for a new OS upgrade in hopes of all the small bugs being fixed. Maybe we should start emailing RIM with what we would like to see in the OS upgrade?? I know RIMS email address is floating around some place on this site.

does anyone know where the sensor is for the auto-dim? sometimes I wonder if I'm not getting light to the sensor correctly - is it integral to the screen, hidden under my screen protector? or in the indicator light that should be clear? the bug for me seems to be more of an extreme lag to bump to full bright, it will get there eventually... usually.

the sensor is in the right ear hole above the screen.
