Ok, as you can tell I'm very new at this. I just got my Blackberry Pearl and I'm trying to setup the internet and email. The browser isn't in my menu and I read somewhere its because I dont have the data plan. I cant seem to find where to get that. I just need some help setting all this up.

you get a data plan from your carrier. They should insturcted you that you need that for email and internet when you purchased the phone.

Correct. You need a blackberry data plan. It can be added to any voice plan though.

Once you signup for a BB plan, you will receive the service books that will enable your Pearl to browse the web and receive email. These are basically files/configurations that are transparent to you as a user, but are sent by carrier. You will then see a browser icon as well as the ability to setup email accounts.

if you're on T-Mobile, just login to my-t-mobile.com and you can setup your Internet Email accounts on it. I found it to be easier because T-mobile will send the settings to your Pearl immediately.
